Beginning at a very young age, I have always enjoyed building. From my first set of Legos, to one of those ball bearing roller-coaster things, to an electronics project kit, I knew that designing and building would be what I did as a career. When I was 17, I got my first job in the construction industry doing remodel work with a neighbor of mine. But, unlike the company I was working for, my passion for building never died. In 2004, nearly 7 years out of high school, I decided to go back to college to study construction and architecture. Now, still in school (takes forever when you can only do 2 classes each semester), and still working full-time for an architectural millwork comapny, I am attempting to get my own design-build business (PetersenDesign, LLC) up and running. The company itself is owned by my wife, Karen, who is also a builder, of sorts. She has a Bachelors degree in Sculpture from Herron School of Art, and does plenty of her own work in our workshop. Hopefully we'll get some photos of her stuff up on the site, eventually. For now, take a look through the gallery, and feel free to email or send me comments on my Facebook page (www.facebook.com/deepwoodworkshop)
I can build just about anything (wood-related) for you; stand-alone furniture, home offices and other built-ins, decks, boxes, etc... Although my favorite thing to build is furniture, I have recently been doing a lot of work for a local record label that has been releasing box-sets for various local and nationally-known bands. Whatever you may need, please don't hesitate to contact me with your ideas, and I am sure we can work something out.
